Tuesday dream

Amazing Interior Design by Guilherme Torres, Brazil

Tuesday dream is a new category in our blog. Every tuesday we will write a new post showing amazing interior houses around the world. Today let's start with the Guilherme Torres's house in Brazil. The young Brazilian architect chose to live in a small studio in Londrina, Brazil. The place would lodge an artist’s painting atelier and was under redecoration for over 10 years by the architect himself.
The present project came to life due to several problems found in the building such as electricity mains and rewiring, wall cracks and seepage. Within a month, all wall coatings were removed and rebuilt whilst the architect decided to build a brick table and couch. “As a furniture designer, I decided to follow an opposite thread to what I usually do and create something permanent, stable”, says the architect.

Cinderella's Series Tables by Anna Ter Haar or....WTF saturday ?????

Dutch designer Anna Ter Haar presents her "Cinderella's Series" of tables and chairs. Blown glass provides a visual accent and support. The glass is an integral part of the structures of the pieces. It welds a corner of the tables and it forms part of the armrest on the chairs.
Ter Haar has trained as a fashion designer and she says she has a fascination for things that differ from the normal. "Certain appearances that are so strange and unusual that they become interesting" she says.
WTF is that???? Ugly, isn't it?

The Story of Eames Furniture

"This book has been put together with almost the same attention to detail as a piece of Eames furniture!" Jasper Morrison

There are two ways to learn the Eames story. The first one is told in unparalleled detail on 800 pages with more than 2,500 images at the "The Story of Eames Furniture" book by Gestalten and the second one is told in 16.08 minutes by Marilyn Neuhart, author of the book, and her husband John.
In this unique 2-volume, 800-page book with more than 2,500 images, Marilyn Neuhart tells the story — to paraphrase Charles Eames himself — of how Eames furniture got to be the way it is.
The Story of Eames Furniture is the benchmark reference on the subject. It is a biography — not of an individual person, but of arguably the most influential and important furniture brand of our time. Brimming with images and information, this 2-volume, 800-page book in a slipcase sheds new light on the context in which the furniture of Charles and Ray Eames was created. It documents in unparalleled detail how the design process in the Eames Office developed as well as the significant roles played by specific designers and manufacturers.

Taxing Art by Beta Tank

Design studio Beta Tank have designed a chair with moving panels that transform it from a functional object.
Commissioned by Design Miami/Basel for the W Hotels Designer of the Future Award earlier this year, the chair can be transformed into an impractical art object by twisting the flat wooden panels around to reveal pyramids.
The object has been designed as a comment on European tax regulations, which state that design objects must be sold at a higher VAT rate than pieces of art.
Taxing Art will be on show at the DMY Design Gallery, Berlin, on 9 December.

PRETTYPRETTY heads to sit on by Dejana Kabiljo

Kabiljo Inc.'s PRETTYPRETTY collection – pretty heads to sit on – puts a smile on our face with its erotic wink and its humorous touch.
The humorous PRETTYPRETTY collection consists of hairy bar stools, poufs and chairs. As Kabiljo puts it : “Pretty heads to sit on explore the nicely regulated erotic allure that surrounds us, tracing out the customary grammar of desire. The Kabiljo Inc. products search for the innovation on the level of human behaviour. Consequently, materials are carefully researched and subdued to series of experimental processes until they fit into place. Simple things are created for our complex times, nice, iron-free and celebratory.”

The Torino chest by Jory Brigham

Californian Designer Jory Brigham imagined this little chest with 4 drawers and one sliding lacquer door. He used plywood offcut to realise it, giving his furniture some 50s style.

Flag from Sara Rahbar

Textile artist Sara Rahbar takes an open-eyed awareness to issues surrounding identity, patriotism, and the labeling of individuals or groups. Rahbar literally rips national, religious and cultural boundaries to shreds and reassembles them together, suggesting that we are all a collection of our experiences.

Rocking on the Beach Chairs

Recently, urban population is greater than rural, and that is first time in earth history. The fact might be a reason that we feel Nostalgia at the nature. Have you ever experienced to dream that you are going to the beach? Breeze, the sound of waves and the sandy beach, these make our feeling so good. Rocking on the Beach helps you imagine the one of these experiences in your home. The plastic and pipe shape is designed for the best seashore sound, which is researched around the Netherlands seaside. The shape of chair with full of pipes gives a strong impression as an electronic circuit or urban city landscape.

Pillow blanquet : This pillow blanket is about embracing the “babyboy” color by catching the cloud, dreaming about the world and feeling comfort, safe, warm and snug.

Cloud stool: Cloud Stool is inspired by the flexibility and softness of the cloudscape. It can be singular or become a group as a human being. It gives the illusion that it’s alive, by using irregularity, flexibility and subtle differences in tone of perception. Conclusively, the form interacts between objects, and people could explore with it.

Fantastiques designers basés a Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

The Coiling Collection par Raw Edges

London designers Raw Edges present furniture made from 326 metres of coiled felt at Fat Galerie in Paris. Each object is made by wrapping strips of felt around wooden structures and coating one side in silicon, which soaks into the fibres to form a rigid object. Prototypes of the project were first shown at Ten Small Atlases in Milan last April.
The exhibition opens today and continues until 15 January 2011.
